The Star Music Trek train moved to Markurdi, Benue State, last weekend and the residents of the city got more than they bargained for.
Granted they expected to have a good time, most of them didn’t expect that the Nigerian artistes would knock them down with hits after hits.
The big surprise was Tuface’s duet with international star, Bridget Kelly of Roc Nation.
Gbenga Adeyinka started the show doing what he knows how to do best – cracking the ribs of the fans. This put them in the mood and they knew that the night was going to be fun-filled.
The self-acclaimed Egberi Papa 1 of Bayelsa, Timaya, is still incredible! He delivered his hit song, Ukwu, with the fans screamingd for more. Apart from Ukwu, Timaya performed other hits including Plantain Boy and Ekololma Demba.
Wande Coal’s turn on the stage wasn’t bad either. The audience loved him. From You Bad to Bumper to bumper, the young lad also excited the Markurdi residents.
But when the only lady on the Trek’s train, Tiwa Savage, came on board, the crowd went wild.
Tiwa didn’t allow her male counterparts to take the shine off her. The newly married babe mesmerised the audience and kept it till she strutted off the stage with her dancers.
Mr. Incredible, Jude Abaga, apparently lost his voice but this didn’t deter him from showing his prowess on the stage. The Chairman, as he is also called, put up a not-too-bad show dishing out numbers that got the audience rocking.
But Tubaba is still the master. Being the son of the soil, Tuface didn’t let his Benue people down. It didn’t matter the song he played, the crowd still went wild. But the climax was his duet with Bridget, on the song Let Somebody Love You, off his forthcoming album. The fans went crazy!
The Trek moves on to Ibom Hall Ground, Uyo today, for the third concert in its 10-week, 10-city line-up. Punch
