Following the high rate of killing of innocent souls by the Fulani headsmen in some parts of southern Taraba, the acting governor, Alhaji Garba Umar yesterday directed the immediate imposition of a 24-hour curfew in Ibi local government area of the state.
Umar who gave the directive through a press statement signed by his senior special assistant on media and publicity, Mr Aaron Atimas, a copy of which was made available to LEADERSHIP Sunday said the curfew would remain till further notice.
The statement directed all the security agencies within the area to maintain 24 hours surveillance.
The statement further advised citizens to restrain their movement until further notice.
The statement also said that the acting governor has directed that from tomorrow, senior public servants from the southern part of the state should go home to assist in ameliorating the security challenges in their respective area.
