The Lagos state chapter of National Association of Nigerian Professional Footballers (NANPF) has praised the Executive Chairman of Surulere local government, Hon. Tajudeen Ajide, for his philanthropic gestures to ex- footballers in the country.

In a chat with the press, the chairman of the Lagos state chapter, Hon. Tajudeen Disu, described the Mayor of the acclaimed sports city as ‘selfless and kind’.

” Hon. Tajudeen Ajide is a rare breed. He has continued to cater for the welfare of several former footballers, many who are facing health and financial challenges,” Disu a former Nigeria international and captain of the defunct Abiola Babes football club, stated.

According to him, the former footballer-turned-politician had in recent times also provided jobs for many of the retired players, as well as encouraging and sponsoring some of them to courses within and outside the country.

” It is a fact that Ajide was a former footballer. However, he has proven over time to be a politician with uncommon leadership skills and magnanimous nature,” Disu noted.
