Team Skipper, Joseph Tambarin Yobo, has sensationally declared that the team will not disappoint Nigerians at the World Cup. Yobo stated this while the Nigeria Football Federation eggheads and Nigeria’s ambassador to the United States, Professor Ade Adefuye visited their camp. He said the team is always fired up when it sees political find time out of their busy schedule to visit them. “I can assure His Execellency and his team that I and my mates will not disappoint in Brazil because we are ready to give our all and make a statement at the World Cup.”
Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United States, Prof. Ade Adefuye, tipped the Super Eagles to shock the world at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. He made the assertion when he paid a courtesy call on the African Champions at their Hyatt Hotel camp base as preparation peaks for the Brazil 2014 World Cup. He was accompanied on the visit by the Consul General of the Nigeria Consulate in Atlanta, Ambassador Geoffrey Tenelaibe and top embassy staffers. NFF President, Alhaji Aminu Maigari accompanied by the Chairman of the NFF Technical Committee, Barr. Chris Green was on hand to receive the envoy and his team. Addressing the players, Prof. Adefuye, who identified most of the players by their names said he has been a keen follower of the Nigerian national teams at all levels and it was time for the jinx at the senior level to be broken come Brazil 2014. “We have won the U-17 World Cup more than twice, we have played in the final of the U-20 World Cup, why can’t we take that excellence and recreate it at the senior level. I believe that this year will be the year the Super Eagles will shock the world and these are the players who will do it”.
NFF President, Aminu Maigari, said he has no doubt in his mind that Nigeria will be the shining light of the African teams in Brazil. “That is why they are currently the African champions and they are about to be crowned World champions.”
