The Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) said on Wednesday in Lagos that it had patched all potholes on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway and other roads in the state.
Kehinde Afolabi, the agency’s engineer in charge of Lagos West, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the agency used upto 40 tonnes of asphalt to get the job done.
“It is neat now, no potholes, nothing, we are carrying out several repairs to make that road pot hole free, I think they are now at Agbara/Okokomaiko.
“All those sections now, even today, they are working on it, yesterday, they have been working in the last one month none stop, every day, at least, 20 to 40 tonnes of asphalt.
“They are up and doing in everything, patching of potholes and repairs of failed sections.
“Change zero to change 70, Lagos-Badagry from beginning to the end, to Seme.
“Since 2012, we have been embarking on zero tolerance for potholes, that is, what we have designed for all our roads.
“Even Old Abeokuta (road) from Ile Zik to Abule Egba, Mangoro to NITEL to Abattoir, we have carried out all the patching of pot holes.
“As long as a pothole emerge today, we attend to it, the road is bound to come up with pot holes, we arrest it.”
