Governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Mukhtar Ramalan Yero has condemned the incessant attacks on innocent citizens in Ambe-Madaki Village in Sanga Local Government Area of the state as well as weekend’s murder of the District Head of Zangang in Atakar Chiefdom, Mr. Yohanna Daniel Shinkut, describing the acts as ‘’devilish and unwarranted.’’
About 15 persons were reportedly killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen in the area Friday morning.
Yero’s reaction over the killings was contained in a statement signed by the Director General, Media and Publicity, Ahmed Maiyaki in Kaduna, yesterday.
The governor said the new wave of attacks in Southern Kaduna were clear indications that some desperate persons were bent on creating confusion in the state for their selfish gains and asked the people of the affected communities to remain calm as the government had taken measures to restore law and order there.
“Surveillance has been intensified in the affected communities to ensure adequate security of the people.
“Though we have recorded tremendous progress in ensuring unity and peaceful co-existence in the entire state, it is obvious that some enemies of our dear state are bent on sowing seeds of discord in order to score cheap political points.
“I call on the entire people of Kaduna State to remain united in the face of this calculated attempt at dividing us, we must work together to put our common enemies to shame,” he said.
