Ibrahim Musa, a 22-year-old man who resides in Kano, stabbed his 50-year-old mother to death.
The incident happened at Rimin Kebbe Quarters at about 10 pm on Thursday.
After the incident, Musa ran to his hideout in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of the state.
However, police were alerted and officers immediately hit the hideout and got Musa arrested.
Confirming the incident on Friday, Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel said Musa confessed to the crime.
The suspect also confessed to dealing in illicit drug abuse.
The commissioner appreciated those that assisted with information that led to the arrest of the suspect.
He also commended the tactical teams.
Gumel, however, assured that the culprit will be brought to book.
