Evangelist Paulinus Ugochukwu, President, Electronics Section of the Alaba International Market, was on Sunday inducted as a Patron of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC).
His investiture took place at the LASU Township Stadium, Ojo, Lagos State, during the final of the Alaba International Market Super League.
The National Chairman of NFSC, Rev. Samuel Ikpea, while decorating him with the club’s paraphernalia, said his addition to the stream of eminent personalities joining the club was an “eloquent testimony of the recognition NFSC’s good work and uncommon patriotic service to Nigeria’s sports development’’.
“A good product does not need do or die advertisements to sell. NFSC has metamorphosed into a brand that well-meaning Nigerians and foreigners want to identify with. We give God the glory,’’ an elated Ikpea said.
The new Patron, Ugochukwu, said that “I cherish this honour to serve my fatherland in the area of sports development. I will deliver as I join this world renowned supporters club.“There is no better platform and opportunity to vent my love for sports development in this country than working with this unbeatable supporters club,’’ he said.
The occasion was witnessed by eminent sons and daughters from the eastern part of the country who were guests at the final of the Alaba International Market Super League.
Alaba International Market is one of the largest electronics markets in sub-Saharan Africa, established over 40 years ago.
