Kaduna bomb blasts: How I escaped assassination – Gen Buhari

A former military Head of State, General Mohammadu Buhari (rtd), said  he narrowly escaped an assassination attempt on his life after he was targeted by suicide bombers in Kawu area of Kaduna on Wesnesday afternoon.

In a statement, Buhari said: “I  am personally involved in a clearly targeted bomb attack today at about 2:30pm on my way to Daura.

“The unfortunate event, clearly an assassination attempt, came from a fast moving vehicle that made many attempts to overtake my security car, but was blocked by escort vehicle.

“We reached the market area of Kawo where he took advantage of our slowing down and attempted to ram my car and instantly detonated the bomb which destroyed all the three cars in our convoy.

“Unfortunately, when I came out of my vehicle, I saw many dead bodies littered around. They were innocent people going about their daily business who became victims of mass murder.

“Thank God for His mercy, I came out unhurt, but with three of my security staff sustaining minor injuries. They have since been treated in hospital and discharged.”

Thank God for General Buhari’s life. Oftentimes, President Jonathan had been blamed for not been proactive about the unabated insurgencies in Nigeria. What we fail to realize is that it is supposed to be the responsibilities of all Nigerians. Members of the deadly and dreaded Boko Haram are not invincible after all. Since we fail to expose them, we must learn to live with the menace. Thousands of Nigerians have lost their lives and have left unsung and uncelebrated. Gen. Buhari escaped and the news is everywhere. If we do not act fast, Nigeria might be consumed and the powers we crave for through the elections by which we remain complacent may ultimately become elusive.

Thank God for you too my brother, God has really shown you mercy. I challenge you now to use your remaining days here on earth to fight agains terrorists, fight them wherever you see them and give zero tolerance to them, even if your dad or any loved person is involved. Another important question to ask is ‘why do they want to kill me?’ Terrorists are beyound political affiliations.

I guess it was never in your imagination that BH terrorists could ever have Maj. Gen. Buhari as a prime target.
Now that it is glaring that Bokoharamists can choose anyone to devour, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that it could be anyone’s turn to be attacked. Evil or innocent victims. Of course, it only those who God keeps that are safe from danger.

It shall soon be a heavy descend from Bokoharamists on their own major sponsors and apologists. They can’t escape it. The evil that any man does would live after the person.
Anyone that is aware of Bokoharamists modus operandi and refuses to help curb their activities is not innocent, they should expect the wrath of God.

It is in the Bible that if My (God’s) people should repent and pray, I (God) will heal their land. Even those of us who think we are innocent check ourselves and repent of our little, little misdeeds; then let us pray for the peace of Nigeria.
Even those who are the masterminds of the great evils – terrorism, looting of people’s treasury, human ritualists etc., if you can repent, forsake and restitute your old ways today; God will forgive, and the price you may need to pay for your past atrocities on earth could be moderate.

Let us all bear it at the back of our minds that whatever we sow now is what we, our children and children’s children will reap. Then, life is beyond is much more than what is obtainable on this side of eternity – where will you spend your life after death? With God in heaven or with devil in hell?
Remember the love of God. John 3:16
