…commends PDP, Chime for transparent, credible primaries
The Women Wing of the Ugwuanyi Support Group, USA, has congratulated Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (‘Gburugburu’) for his emergence as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Enugu gubernatorial election in 2015.
In a statement on Sunday, the group commended “all the PDP delegates for the wise decision they made on December 8th, 2014. We also would like to thank all PDP stakeholders in the state and the National PDP Primary Election Committee led by His Highness, King Asara Asara, for ensuring that the election was very transparent, peaceful, fair and without prejudice”.
“We thank you all for listening to the voice and the yearning of the people of Enugu State. People of Enugu State have spoken once again and they have been honoured once again in a very special way by the actions of these delegates”, the statement added.
The women also applauded Governor Sullivan Chime “for his bold decision to choose a peaceful path instead of war during the primaries. We appreciate and salute you, Your Excellency and till eternity, we will continue to say, “thank you” and we will never forget.”
The women also prayed for divine providence on Ndi Enugu as the elections draw nearer and also sought a repeat of the circumstances that ensured “the coming together of our leaders in one accord to ensure that unity of purpose and preservation of our peace prevails above all other interests.”
The Women Wing, Ugwuanyi Support Group, USA, is coordinated by Hon. Dr. Mrs. Felicia Edoga, Hon. Mrs. Eunice Urama, Hon. Lolo Martha Oby Ike, Hon. Lolo Felicia Agbo, Hon. Mrs. Ifeoma Nnadi and Hon. Chief Mrs. Gertrude Ezegbunam.
Other coordinators are Hon. Mrs. Theresa Orah, Hon. Mrs. Udo Anih, Hon. Mrs. Ebere Agbo, Hon. Mrs. Ngozi Eze and Hon. Dr. Uzzi Chukwu.
