Falcons coach optimistic Sweden will fall tonight

Super Falcons Head Coach, Edwin Okon, has said the best legs will be fielded against  Scandinavian opponents, Sweden tonight when Nigeria opens her title quest in Winnipeg at the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada.
The reigning African champions are to begin the campaign against Sweden inside the Winnipeg Stadium in at 9.00pm Nigerian time.
Okon said everything has been put in its right place to ensure his side kick-off their title campaign strongly on a winning note against the Scandinavians.
“We have done everything right to put the players in a perfect frame of mind for our group’s opening match against Sweden tonight
“We have trained hard, perfected our acts and the players have been well psyched up 100% and right now we are fervently hoping that everything will turn out well to give us victory.
“The first match is quite important as good result in the encounter will go a long way to boost our confidence going into the next group matches against Australia and USA.
“Already the players have queued into the frenzies with a heartwarming operational slogan, ‘Super Falcons and Sweden must fall’.
“Good enough up to this moment we don’t have any injury worry, all the players are 100% fit for the clash.
“So we will be fielding our very best legs against Sweden. Of course, there is no room for sentiment in team selection.
“We want to win and we are going to use our most potent weapon to prosecute the match.
“We took time off to watch the matches of the Flying Eagles at the 2015 Fifa Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand and we have taken inspiration and positive from their qualification to the knockout stage.
“We strongly believe that qualification will be our portion at the end of the day and we’ll even go further to challenge for the title,” said the former Falconets coach to supersport.com.
