Gunmen have killed Mr Denen Igbana, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Security to Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State.
It was gathered that the unknown gunmen stormed his house around 2AM on Friday and shot him.
The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has directed security operatives to immediately fish out the perpetrators.
He added that anyone who has been mentioned in relation to the crime should be brought in for questioning if he is implicated in the investigation.
The official vehicle attached to the late security assistant, had several bullet holes as the assassins started shooting at him when he got home.
The gunmen had trailed him to the field next to his house. He was brutally shot and left to bleed.
Neighbours and community members who narrated the last words of the deceased, said that he pointed accusing fingers at a former warlord.
Colleagues of the late security assistant who were with him on Thursday before his gruesome murder, also said that he had complained about threats to his life.
The State Commissioner of Police vowed to track down the perpetrators, following the Governor’s directive to arrest those behind the killing.
Governor Samuel Ortom also visited the hospital to see Igbana’s son who fainted due to the trauma of the violence and shooting at their home. – Channels.
