Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, yesterday, warned that his administration would not admit any teacher who would constitute a cog in the wheel of the state’s education system.
The governor gave the warning in Nsukka at the grand-finale of a quiz competition he co-sponsored, under the auspices of Ochudo Foundation, with Hon. Chinedu Nwamba, representing Nsukka East constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly.
The competition, which involved 32 secondary schools in Nsukka Local Government Area of the state, ended with Community Secondary School, Agu Umabor emerging the champion, while Community Secondary School Ede-Oballa came second.
At the end of the exercise, computer sets and cash prizes were given to the two schools, as well as the St. Cyprians’ Special Science School, which came third in the competition.
Ugwuanyi, who was represented by the commissioner for education in the State, Prof. Uche Eze said his administration was passionate about education and that he would not allow any teacher to frustrate such efforts.
