The organizers of the Miss Anambra Beauty Pageant, Anambra Broadcasting Service(ABS) has denied ever coercing the beauty queen into making the video as a precondition for winning the pageant.
A statement by the MD/CEO of the company, Nze Uche Nworah described a publication in a national newspaper where Chidinma Okeke, the embattled former queen said her performance in the sex video was used as a pre-condition for her to win the pageant as false.
Nworah said Miss Okeke’s assertions were barefaced lies, and that the security agencies have been briefed and were working to reveal the true motive behind the video.
He said the video was sent to him by an anonymous person, to notify him of his queen’s involvement in lesbian act, and that she had quickly called the queen an told her of it, advising she brings her parents into it to seek a solution to it.
“After the handover of the crown by Miss Chidinma Okeke to the Miss Anambra project executives in the presence of the ABS management in the office of the ABS MD/CEO, I dismissed all the other members of the management with the exception of the ABS lawyer and one of the Miss Anambra project executives.
“I went on to show Miss Chidinma Okeke the videos I had received that day from the anonymous individual and the messages from the person, I then asked her if she had any knowledge of the video and she said yes. I advised her to go home and confide in her family. I have not seen nor spoken to her since that day as I do not know her whereabouts.” Nworah said.
He said the entire scandal has been politicised, with political opponents of the governor capitalising on it to make trouble for whatever reason.
“It would also appear that Miss Chidinma Okeke has become a pawn in a larger politically motivated conspiracy.”
He said he would rather wait for security agencies to finish their investigations and come out with what truly transpired than joining issues with people.
