Secretary of Adamawa State Ministry for Local Government Affairs, Mr Kennedy Dauda, has protested media reports claiming that he accused former ADC to Governor Murtala Nyako of collecting millions of naira monthly for the police.
Dauda, while appearing before a panel, said the media reports were a total misrepresentation of facts.
According to him, he never said the ADC to the former governor was collecting a total of N48 million monthly from local government council for the police.
He said the state government owned Adamawa Television Authority (ATV) was one the media organisations that misquoted him in their news report.
Chairman of the panel, Justice Bobbo Umar, in his response, urged the media to always report the truth at all times in the future.
Speaking further, Dauda explained that what he claimed he gave to the ADC was the sum of N6.5 million to repair all the security vehicles attached to Adamawa State government’s Operation Tsaro.
