The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC) rose from a late night meeting Wednesday and set up a committee to consider the waiver applications of some of the aspirants, including Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, a one time Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC); Brigadier-General Buba Marwa (rtd), a former military administrator of Lagos State; who defected to the PDP from the All Progressives’ Congress (APC).
The Committee was to submit its report Friday.
Also, the names of members of the screening committee would be announced Friday.
Also confirming the development, National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, said a four member committee headed by the National Organising Secretary had been set up to consider the waiver applications.
Among the committee members are the National Legal Adviser, National Publicity secretary and the National Financial Secretary.
The National Organising Secretary, Abubakar Mustapha, disclosed to journalists shortly after the meeting that the screening of the 14 aspirants for the governorship of Adamawa State earlier scheduled to hold Thursday have been shifted to Saturday. – Guardian.
