The Acting Governor of Adamawa, Alhaji Ahmadu Fintiri, on Monday approved the constitution of a seven-man Judicial Panel of Inquiry to assess and investigate the administration of the impeached governor, Murtala Nyako, from June 2007, to June 2014.
A statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Tukur Liman, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria in Yola, indicated that the panel had been given four weeks within which to complete its assignment.
According to Liman, the terms of reference of the panel are to investigate financial accruals to the state from June 2007, to June 2014, as well as disbursement of funds to ministries, boards and agencies.
The panel is also to identify those involved in inappropriate financial disbursements and application and also investigate staff recruitment ,deployment and administration of human resources .
The panel, to be chaired by Justice Bobbo Umar, has Rtd D.I.G Ibrahim Leh, Zura Maigadi, Engr. Sulaiman Naiwa, Mr Samuel Kyenson and Abubakar Abdullahi as members, while Mr Sedan Nyari would serve as Secreatry.
Similarly, the acting governor has also constituted a five-man panel to investigate the operations of the Adamawa Homes and Saving Company, owned by the state government.
The panel is expected to complete the assignment and submit its report within two weeks. NAN
