The Minister of Trade, Industry and Investment, Dr. Olusegun Aganga, has commended Etisalat Nigeria, Pan Atlantic University and the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria for consistently promoting the growth of Small and Medium Enterprises in the country.
The commendation was made in Abuja, at the Etisalat-sponsored Market Access platform recently held at Ibeto Hotel.
Aganga said, “SMEs remain the backbone for the development of most economies around the world as it has abundant growth opportunities. It is my goal to bring massive growth to this sector.
“I must commend the partnership of Etisalat Nigeria, Pan African University and the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency for being consistent with the initiative.”
The Head, Business Segment Marketing, Etisalat Nigeria, Bidemi Ladipo, noted that the attendance and testimonies of the impact of the seminar were encouraging.
He said Etisalat was passionate about the growth of businesses and entrepreneurs and remained committed to providing them with every necessary support they needed to thrive in their various industries.
Ladipo said, “We recently awarded N2m each to 10 entrepreneurs in our Easybusiness Millionaires Hunt scheme. I am delighted to say that some of them are present here in Abuja to share their experiences and how far they have gone in their businesses.”
The Market Access platform is a quarterly networking event that has recorded tremendous success in the SME segment. Now in its third year, the initiative has been held in several cities across the country in a bid to empower SMEs. Before the Abuja leg, the event has been held in Lagos, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Calabar and Uyo. It has recorded a combined audience of over 2,000 people.
