Kano House of Assembly Speaker, Alhaji Abdullahi Yusuf Ata, has been removed from office this morning.
Twenty-seven out of the 44 lawmakers endorsed his impeachment this morning during the prelinery.
The house subsequently elected Kabiru Alhassan Rurum as new speaker.
It was learnt that Ata was sacked over allegations of corruption.
Other allegation leveled against the former speaker was late-coming.
