The Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu has said the greatest service the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) could offer to Nigeria and her democracy is to set up a shadow cabinet to benchmark the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government on its promises.
The party also called for thorough investigation into the allegation involving the payment of commission to a company allegedly owned by a Northern APC governor and a South-Western APC leader for collecting monies meant for the Single Treasury Account (TSA) in violation of the BIOFA Act.
Ekweremadu, who spoke at a National Conference organised by the PDP in Abuja on Thursday, said the party members were not totally new to opposition.
Going down memory lane, the Deputy Senate President noted that PDP founding fathers, under the aegis of G34 led by His Excellency, Dr. Alex Ekwueme, “courageously looked tyranny in the face and demanded a return to democratic rule.” – New Telegraph.
