Emirates Airlines has announced plans to commence a new linked service to Abuja and Kano as from August 1, 2014.
Its Regional Manager, Commercial Operations, West Africa, Mr. Manoj Nair, who announced this, said it was in response to the growing demand by customers.
Speaking during activities to mark 10 years of successful operations to Nigeria, Manoj said that the Nigerian market had always been very important to the airline.
He said, “The celebration also comes ahead of our exciting plans to launch a new linked service to Abuja and Kano on 1 August this year. So, I’m sure you will agree with me we have a lot to celebrate.
“Nigeria, now Africa’s largest economy, is a very important market to Emirates. Since the start of our operations 10 years ago on January 2, 2004, our services have grown significantly.
“We started out with a four times weekly flight that was linked with Accra in Ghana, using an A330-200 aircraft, whereas now we operate double daily flights between Dubai and Lagos with the larger Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft, and we will soon welcome Abuja and Kano to our network.”
