A democracy group has launched in the United States of America (USA) in support of Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Enugu Chapter, consensus candidate in the gubernatorial primaries.
The group, known as Ugwuanyi Support Group, is a pan-US group with members in different states across diverse political, cultural and secular interests in solidarity of the gubernatorial aspirations of Ugwuanyi (fondly called ‘Gburugburu’), who is also the Chairman, House Committee on Maritime.
The Ugwuanyi Support Group is coordinated by Dr. Isaac Ike, Elder John Agbo, Dr. Chijuba Ebulu, Hon. Emma Nwagbo and High Chief Ike Asadu.
Other coordinators include Dr. Mrs. Felicia Edoga, Hon. Afam Ugbor, Engr. Augustine Anijielo, Hon. Alex Nnadi, Hon. Phillip Anih and Hon. Mrs. Eunice Urama.
In a press release made available to THE CITIZEN, the Ugwuanyi Support Group stated that “as Enugu people await the confirmation of Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi as the PDP Gubernatorial Candidate for 2015, we, the coordinators of Ugwuanyi Support Group, USA, we wish to use this opportunity to once again affirm our unflinching support for the one with obvious mandate of Enugu people to lead the State at such a time as this and by the special grace of God will sustain Ndi Enugu State in the promised Land. “
“We are calling on all the good people of Enugu State to continue to support the in-coming Governor. The show of solidarity we have observed is very palpable and we know that Enugu State is in for a wonderful treat from RT. Hon. Ugwuanyi. We thank the good people of Enugu State for their support and keep singing the song of victory for Gburugburu”, the group added.
The group declared that “Hon. Ugwuanyi (Gburugburu) is ready to take over the mantle of leadership in the Lion Building. We know we have all prayed for God to help Ndi Enugu to select the right person who will continue from where our able Governor stops and God has answered that prayer.”
“Enugu State is blessed to have this philanthropist, a doer, Ugwuanyi the bridge builder, who will bring all Enugu people together when elected with his charming personality. Hon. Ugwuanyi, a humble man who is loved by all is ready to be our next Governor in 2015. Remember that Gburugburu is not just a name, but an attitude.”
The group also thanked Governor Sullivan Chime “for the sacrifices he made in the interest of peace in Enugu State. Your Excellency, Enugu people took note of the fatherly love you displayed before the eyes of the world. This is an icing on the cake you have already baked for Ndi Enugu State. Enugu people will never forget the history you made through humility few days ago. We appreciate you, our hero.”
