Members of the Enugu State House of Assembly have approved the list of Special Advisers nominees submitted to them by Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
The twenty-four legislators on the floor of the House yesterday approved the twelve special advisers-designate.
Leader of the House, Hon. Ikechukwu Ezeugwu, who presented the governor’s request said that it was important that the list be approved to enable the new administration take off immediately.
Ezeugwu pointed out that the advisers would help the governor deliver democracy dividends to the people because he alone cannot do the work.
It can be recalled that the governor recently appointed the Secretary to the State Government, SSG; Chief Press Secretary, CPS; and Senior Special Adviser, SSA on Media.
However, the twelve nominees were not made public during the approval session.
In another development, the House has constituted a selection committee that would enable the House form the House Standing Committee for the 6th Assembly.
Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Edward Ubosi, will chair the selection committee. All the principal officers of the House as well as the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Dons Uzogbado are members of the committee.
Other members of the selection committee include Hon. Iloabuchi Aniagu, SKE Udeokoye, Christian Nwamba and Nnamani Ezenta.
