The Enugu State Ministry of Education said it would partner with the Reading Association of Nigeria to implement Literacy Enhancement and Achievement Project (LEAP)
The project is to be implemented first in Udenu, Oji River and Enugu South Local Government Areas.
The Enugu Commissioner for Education Prof. Uche Ezeh said the project will benefit both teachers and students across the areas.
“LEAP is a viable project that has the potential to enhance delivery of secondary school teachers as well as the performance of students in the core subjects like English language, Mathematics science etc.”
He noted that the state will continue to partner with organisations to ensure that the education sector continues to grow and develop.
Prof. Ezeh said the core mandate of this administration is to take education to another level and ensure confidence and excellence is restored back in the state government schools.
He called on students and teachers who will benefit from the exercise to take it seriously and improve on themselves. – Channels.
