There are strong indications that the Federal Government will soon fine-tune the national auto policy introduced three years ago by former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, going by the outcome of the auto stakeholders forum held in Lagos, Monday.
The one day stakeholders’ forum put together by the Nigeria Economic Summit Group, was attended by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Okechukwu Enelamah, the Director General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council, Dr. Aminu Jalal, chieftains of Nigeria auto industry and other stakeholders, who gathered to address the grey areas militating against the implementation of the national auto policy.
Enelamah told newsmen that the essence of the gathering was to listen to the stakeholders and know what they wanted from the policy, adding that the whole idea was to get feedback from the stakeholders on how to make the policy succeed.
He said: “We want the stakeholders to tell us what they want. We are a listening government.”
