FirstBank drives convenience with new service offerings

FirstBank offers secure money transfer services to customers

The Bank through the years has demonstrated an understanding of its customers’ modern lives, wants, and needs to enable it become the trusted partner providing bespoke and accessible product offerings to its teeming customers.

To support lifestyles and provide convenience, the Bank has provided the *894# Quick Banking  mobile solution, accessible through all types of mobile phones for airtime purchase, money transfers, bill payments, purchase of goods and services and lots more. With Quick Banking, both existing and new customers have the opportunity to perform a wide array of financial and value added services instantly, using their mobile phones in the convenience of their homes, places of work and on-the-go.

With *894#, the mobile phone has become a mobile branch and FirstBank customers can activate this service in three steps: dial *894*0#;  enter a four digit Personal Identification Number (PIN) linked to the debit card; create a five digit PIN, and the registration is complete.

Also the Bank has implemented new and exciting features on its mobile banking application – FirstMobile – to enhance security and customers’ digital banking experience.

The new features include ‘card-in-control’ which makes it possible for customers to define their card functionality on their mobile phone; a Quick Response (QR) Code that transforms your phone into a tap and pay device, riding on NFC technology; the Transaction receipt and Save beneficiary functions all of which make business transactions much more convenient and safe.

Other features on the FirstMobile App include the domestic funds transfers; airtime purchase for self and others on all mobile networks; bill payments; cheque services; flight booking; and quick account services such as account balance inquiry, statement view and much more.

FirstBank has in place money transfer services available nationwide which provide safe, convenient and flexible means of funds transfer all year round. These services are also available at weekends as well as on public holidays from some dedicated branches. With Western Union, customers can conveniently receive money from abroad and send money from Nigeria to over 200 countries and territories Worldwide.

Also, the new Account Payment Network (APN) recently added to the Western Union Service allows customers send funds directly to bank accounts outside Nigeria using the outbound Western Union Service. MoneyGram allows users receive money from loved ones abroad or send to them from Nigeria while with RIA money transfer service, customers can receive money from loved ones abroad directly into their Naira accounts with FirstBank and this service also offers the option of cash pick up at FirstBank branches nationwide.

The Bank offers the Transfast Money Transfer service, allowing users initiate money transfer online which can be received directly into FirstBank accounts in Nigeria. FirstBank also offers dealership services to other money transfer organizations such as First Apple Inc.

The Bank supports consumers’ dreams and aspiration by providing funding for the acquisition of personal assets such as automobile and home loan for the benefit of its customers. The products come with flexible payment plans and at competitive interest rates.

The Bank has also hugely simplified its savings account opening process with the FirstInstant Savings and FirstInstant Savings Plus accounts, both of which enable customers open fully functional bank accounts, with minimal requirements, from anywhere at any time via any of the bank’s online platforms.

According to FirstBank’s spokesperson, Folake Ani-Mumuney, the Bank would always put its customers and communities at the heart of its business. “We would continue to offer products and services uniquely designed to treat our customers like the valued personae they are”, she stated.
