The city of Kaduna practically shook last weekend when the Globacom-sponsored music show, Glo Mega Music Nationwide Tour, landed in the city.
The performing artistes literally locked down the city for five hours with incredible pulsating entertainment back to back. It was simply wow!
The show, anchored by two Nollywood damsels, Uche Jombo and Ebube Nwagbo, was held at the Castle Event Centre, the hall was filled to the brim with residents who were ready to have some fun.
And indeed, they had a large dose of fun as Flavour, Olamide, Phyno, Di’Ja and Timaya made sure they put up their best at the show.
Di’Ja formally opened the evening of fun and taking advantage of her Northern Nigeria ancestry, she connected seamlessly with the audience. She was a sight to behold on stage as she introduced her performance with flawless Hausa diction to the admiration of the crowd which responded thunderously.
Then Flavour, when he is not ‘killing’ the ladies with his biceps, he is getting so many people excited with his songs and dance steps. That was what he did at the Kaduna show.
In quick succession, the other three Glo brand ambassadors, Phyno, Timaya and Olamide also showcased their talents on the stage.
Three Nollywood icons, Victor Osuagwu, Patience Ozokwor, a.k.a. Mama G, and Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), were joined by the Northern Nigeria export to the entertainment industry, Sani Danja, to make celebrity appearances at the show. Sani Danja also took to the stage later on to give the audience a good session of music.
Meanwhile, today, the coal city of Enugu would play host to the Glo mega concert and it would feature a convergence of music stars including Flavour, Phyno, and Runtown who are all from the South Eastern part of the nation.
The trio are dubbed ‘042’ artistes, a term which refers to music stars who were raised or who cut their musical teeth in the coal city, which telephone code is ‘042’.
Flavour, for instance, had entertained at a local pub before he broke into the big league, while both Phyno and Runtown have ethnic affinity to the city and had started their careers there. The ‘042’ artistes will be joined by Tuface, Timaya, Olamide and Korede Bello who are also brands with national appeal.
Speaking on behalf of his colleagues in the ‘042’ group, Flavour assured that he was very excited to be in Enugu.
“This is like going back to my roots and I cannot wait to see not only my fans in the city but those old folks we grew up together in Enugu. It is going to be a show like never before for all of us,” Flavour declared.
Phyno and Runtown in the same vein promised to give their fans unbridled fun as they also consider their Enugu trip as a grand homecoming.
