Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan has sworn-in 10 new Commissioners, Board Members of the Delta State Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) and State Universal Primary Education Board (SUPEB), also appointing the Commissioner for Housing; Paulinus Akpeki as the new Chief of Staff.
During the event which took place on Tuesday, Governor Uduaghan challenged the newly sworn-in Officers of the state to bring fresh ideas to the running of the government, while stressing the need for loyalty in shaping the political future of the state.
Some commissioners of the state had earlier resigned their positions due to the declaration of interest to run for different political offices ahead of the 2015 general elections, hence the need for the injection of new commissioners into the State Executive Council which is aimed at ensuring the success of the administration.
The Commissioners sworn-in include: Hon. Solomon Ighrakpata, Joel Bisina, Powell Ojogho, David Anuku, David Ekerekosu, Chris Ekiyor, Omoluabi Newumi, Austin Ayemidejor, Mathew Opuoru and Benjamin Iwezu.
Governor Uduaghan also replaced the Chief of Staff Government House, Asaba; Festus Okubor with the Commissioner for Housing, Chief Paulinus Akpeki as the new Chief of Staff, after the former resigned his position to pursue his political ambition.
