Mr. Philip Akinola, Convener of Covenant Keepers’ Network (CKN), a movement formed by few concerned Nigerian citizens seeking support from well-meaning people and organizations to take action towards encouraging one another to halt the tide of corruption which has stranglehold most nations of African continent and in particular our dear country Nigeria. CKN envision generations united in integrity and righteousness, transforming their spheres of influence in Nigeria and beyond to the glory of God. CKN is a non-membership organization which exists to encourage and unite a community of God’s people to become committed to living the full tenets of Christian beliefs; and by extension the NIGERIA COVENANT principles in ways that bring holistic transformation.
COCEN was formally established in 1994, and conducted a congress on Christian ethics in Nigeria at the Abuja International Conference Centre within November 3-6, 1997, during which the NIGERIA COVENANT was adopted. COCEN was established on the foundation of prayer, nurtured on the conviction that Christian ethics must permeate every sphere of Nigerian society, and driven by the confidence that even small minorities can change entire nations if they are properly galvanized. CKN is born to advance the cause of COCEN, in the following areas among others:
The practice and promotion of obedience to the word of God in the daily lives of members and those in their spheres of influence;
The application of the articles contained in Nigeria Covenant to their daily lives.
