May Edochie, first wife of Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has said that she will not be cajoled into polygamy following her husband’s public apology over marriage to colleague, Judy Austin.

Naija News earlier reported that Yul Edochie, took to his Instagram page on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, to pen a heartfelt apology to May, stressing he has hurt her deeply and he takes the blame for his actions.

According to Yul, he has apologized countless times and has come to terms with his wife that polygamy should not be forced on anyone, however, taking a second wife was never an attempt to disrespect her.

The actor added he has been a good father as well as provided everything that May needed, he, therefore, pleaded with her to forgive the past so they can live peacefully and happily.

Replying her husband in a lengthy post via her Instagram page, May noted that even though forgiveness is the highest and most beautiful form of love, she will not be cajoled into accepting polygamy.

She wrote: “I strongly believe that mistakes are a major part of human existence. It is our response to these errors that count. In other words, forgiveness is one thing, and righting a wrong is another.

“FORGIVENESS is the highest | most beautiful form of love for me. There is no love without forgiveness, and there is no forgiveness without love. Hence, my ability to forgive the mistakes of the past, present, and future with respect to the issue on ground is in the interest of my mental health and inner peace.

“I decided to stick to love…Hate is too great a burden to bear. I am still very much incapable of HATING anyone, let alone the father of my children. The fact remains that anyone can choose to practice POLYGAMY, but can’t be impelled to accept what was never bargained for.

“To reaffirm my stands, I will not be CAJOLED into accepting polygamy, which goes against my beliefs, faith, and values.
