The Acting Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba, has ordered the redeployment of eight Deputy Inspectors-General of Police and 28 Assistant Inspectors-General of Police to various departments, Zonal Commands and Formations of the Force with immediate effect.
According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu, in Abuja on Saturday, DIG Dan-Azumi Doma is now the second in command to the IG (2iC), while DIG Hilary Opara heads the Department of Finance and Administration.
It stated that Sotonye Wakama is now DIG in charge of Operations; Mamman Tsafe, DIG, Department of Logistics and Supply; Solomon Arase, DIG, Criminal Investigation; Saliu Hashimu, Training; Kakwe Katso, Research and Planning and David Omojola, DIG, Information and Communication Technology.
The statement further said that AIG Sule Mamman is the Force Secretary; Ballah Nasarawa, AIG, Force Intelligence Bureau, Abuja; Kalafite Adeyemi, Commandant, Police Staff College, Jos; Adisa Bolanta, Commandant Police Academy, Kano; Tambari Muhammed, AIG Zone 1,Kano; Umaru Manko, AIG Zone 2,Lagos; Mohammed Abubakar, AIG Zone 3,Yola; Adeola Adeniji, AIG Zone 4,Makurdi; Musa Daura, Zone 5, Benin; Mark Idakwo, Zone 6,Calabar; Joseph Mbu, Zone 7,Abuja; Christopher Dega, Zone 8,Lokoja; Usman Gwarry, Zone 9,Umuahia and Bala Hassan, Zone 10, Sokoto.
The redeployment also affected Ambrose Aisabor who becomes AIG Zone 11,Osogbo; Mohammed Gana, AIG Zone 12, Bauchi; Jubril Adeniji, Maritime Police, FHQ,Abuja; Edgar Nanakumo, Force Animal branch; Sabo Ibrahim, Border Patrol, FHQ,Abuja; Chintua Amajor-Onu, Investments FHQ,Abuja and Lawal Tanko, Federal Operations, FHQ,Abuja.
