The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has said that it has not ordered any sit-at-home order in Biafra aside in respect to President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to Imo .
In a statement by Mazi Chika Edozie on Wednesday, IPOB enjoined all Biafrans to go about their business activities and engagements tomorrow and that the only sit-at-home order is that made by its leader Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
IPOB reacting to a directive for a sit-at-home order across Biafran Land in reaction to the planned visit of Mr. President to Imo state on Thursday denied the reports that it ordered such hence all people of Biafra should not recognize the order.
The statement reads in part: ”We have been inundated with calls and messages from Umu Biafra and other well-wishers over a viral message purporting our directives for a sit-at-home order across Biafran Land in reaction to the planned visit of … (President Muhammad Buhari) our Biafran Land on the invitation of the … (Governor of Imo state)
The Directorate of state hereby dissociates itself from the propaganda being peddled by the enemies of Biafran. At no time did the Directorate issued such a circular to Umu Biafra and we would not encourage anyone who wishes to put the lives of Ndi Biafra on the line by constituting authority on themselves.
The only sit-at-home order in Biafra Land remains the which will happen any day our leader Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kalu has ordered and approved by the Directorate of State.
Let no one be moved by the action of the saboteurs and enemies of the Biafra people. We must safeguard our lives and as such will not be cowed into risking the lives and livelihood of our people
