The Director, Africa Department for West and Central Africa of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr Barnea Hassid, has called on the African Union to grant an observer status to Israel at the continental body.
Mr Hassid who made the call while speaking with journalists in Nigeria’s Capital, Abuja, added that Israel shares land boundary with Africa through Egypt and therefore feels Israel should play a critical role for Africa.
The Director noted that granting Israel observer status” will enable Israel to play positive roles in the development of Africa”.
He said Israel can assist countries in the fight against terrorism as terrorists do not discriminate as to who, where and what they attack.
In the case of Nigeria the diplomat said Israel can work with Nigeria especially in the area of agriculture and food security through mechanised farming and other scientific methods of farming.
He said that “if the Negev Desert could be turned into agricultural fields by Israeli experts, it could be done effectively in Nigeria”.
Mr Hassid said his country is willing and ever ready to work with Nigeria in the fight against boko haram and providing of technical assistance to the country’s armed forces.
Israel has no business doing an observer role in African Union. Israel remains a terrorist state that is fixated in killing innocent Palestinians women and children for demanding their right to their land. Israel is a terrorist state which was created through terrorism of “IRGUN” society and the rest in 1948. What they are good at spreading is terrorism and apartheid. African knew what southern part of African went through in the colonial apartheid and it will be a graet irony of history for a content that was a debilitating victim of apartheid to allow an apartheid nation like Israel be among them in any sitting. South African farmer can produce better farm products than Terrorist Israel that will mix diplomacy with Israeli Mossad’s espionage!
