The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) Kebbi Chapter yesterday threatened to embark on industrial action over the state government’s refusal to fulfill the agreement on the adjustment of judiciary salary scale.
The Chairman of the Union, Alhaji Abubakar Zaki, gave the threat during an emergency congress of the union in Birnin Kebbi on Monday.
He said that the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the adjustment of judiciary salary scale between the union and government was signed in February this year.
“There was a subsisting MOU between the union and state government that recurrent and capital funds will be made available to the judiciary to run its affairs independently.
“Regrettably, the state government failed to live up to its pledge to grant financial autonomy to the judiciary
