The Nigeria Union South Africa (NUSA) has condoled with the family of the late Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Mpilo Tutu who died on December 26, 2021.
In a condolence letter by the NUSA President, Mr Collins Mgbo, to the family e-mailed from Johannesburg, South Africa, on Thursday, the union said: “We are saddened to hear of the death of Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Mpilo Tutu.
“We would like to use this moment to express our sincere sympathy and heartfelt condolences to his family.’’
Mgbo said the union would always remember him as an outspoken critic of the Apartheid regime, a lecturer, Nobel Prize winner, Archbishop Emeritus of the Republic South Africa and for his immense contribution at the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
“The Nigerian Community in South Africa would miss his wonderful sense of humour and his voice of peace wherever there is crisis.
“He may have gone to rest but the Nigerian Community in South Africa will continue to live his legacy.
“May God grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss,’’ the NUSA president said.
