Obiano embarks on “Thank You” tour, fulfils promise to party members

The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano once again showed himself as a different kind of politician when he mounted a “Thank You” tour of some local government areas to express his personal gratitude to the rural folks who voted overwhelmingly for APGA during the last general elections.
The governor who stormed the Ekwulobia Stadium in Aguata LGA and Otuocha in Anambra East LGA with prominent party leaders in the state defied a heavy downpour to keep his promise to come back and say a proper “thank you” to them for voting massively for the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the 2015 general elections.
Addressing crowds of party members at the venue, Governor Obiano re-assured the people that APGA would never forget the support it received from the people and promised to always work assiduously to meet their expectations.
According to him, the APGA government in the state would create more job opportunities for Ndi Anambra. “I am aware of the challenges we have in the area of employment. We shall create more jobs for the people but we must always remember that creating jobs is a gradual process. Everybody cannot be employed at the same time. So, we must be patient and wait for the right time,” the governor assured.
Urging party faithful set aside their differences and come together as one and build a stronger party for the greater interest of all, Governor Obiano assured them that everyone would be carried along in the party’s programmes and activities.
The governor also exhorted party members to show greater aggression in canvassing for new members and vigorously declared that APGA was the country’s most focused and pragmatic party with a clearly defined ideology.
Also speaking at the rallies, the wife of the governor, Chief (Mrs.) Ebelechukwu Obiano urged party faithful to remain steadfast in supporting the party and governor Obiano to enable him continue his good work for Ndi Anambra.
According to her, Governor Obiano was a man of his words and a man who keeps his promises no matter what it takes. Said she; “Typical politicians make promises they often don’t keep but I want to assure you that my husband is not a man who says one thing and does another.  He is a man of his words. Whatever he said he will do he does. This is why we have come today to fulfill his promises”
The Wife of the governor ‎ further stated that governor Obiano’s passion for service was evident in the work he was doing across the state in road construction, bridges and flyover, agriculture and especially in the protection of lives and property which has allowed Ndi Anambra especially the traders to do their business in a conducive and safe environment and assured that work on the roads would resume once the rains subside.
“In my own way, I support the governor by equipping rural women and indigent widows with trade and skills to empower them because my commitment is to teach people how to fish instead of giving them fish to eat.  We are a party that stands for the people who are known for their industry and hard work. We need to stand together and support the governor and APGA to work for our state. “She stated.
Also speaking, the former national chairman of the party chief Victor Umeh thanked the governor for fulfilling his promise to the party faithful, calling on the members not to be discouraged by the judgments at the tribunal which he said were not the end of the road. Chief Umeh added that the governor had done a lot to endear himself to the people, wondering why people would compare a government of one year and six months with one which lasted for eight years.
Also speaking, the state chairman of the party, Sir Nobert Obi thanked the governor for having the welfare of the party members at heart and assured him of the support of the party structure in the next election.
