Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, on Monday said the proposed crude oil exploration in Kolmani was for the development of the masses.
Mohammed disclosed this in an interview with journalists in Gombe after sympathising with his counterpart, Inuwa Yahaya, on the demise of his two uncles and a former federal lawmaker.
The governor, who was unsure about the location where the crude deposit was found, added that whether Gombe or his state Bauchi, it should be for the development of the people.
He said, “Oil exploitation and exploration is in the exclusive list and the Federal Government is doing well and we are happy. Gombe or Bauchi, wherever it falls, because we are closely related, it will be beneficial to our people.”
While underscoring the progress in Gombe and ties between both states, Mohammed said his state is 50 years backward in infrastructure when compared to Gombe.
