Ooni’s coronation holds December 7

All is now set for the corona­tion of Prince Adeyeye Eni­tan Ogunwusi as the 51st Ooni of Ile-Ife on December 7, Saturday Sun has exclusively gath­ered.

Prince Ogunwusi’s choice was rati­fied by the Osun State Government on October, 27 after due process by the kingmakers.

Barely 24 hours after the announce­ment, the Ooni-elect, a chartered ac­countant and estate magnate made a tri­umphal entry into the ancient city from Ibadan, Oyo State capital amid pomp.

He has since been in solitary con­finement at Ilofi undergoing traditional rites and tutelage under the supervision of the Isoro cult members. The epoch ceremony is slated for the Enuowa Quarters, Ife with many activi­ties already lined up.

Saturday Sun also exclusively gath­ered that many activities have been lined up for the ceremony, which will attract dignitaries across the world.

A press conference to announce the activities which include inter-religious prayers, convocation rally among many others are slated for next week in La­gos.

Ogunwusi’s predecessor, the late Oba Okunade Sijuwade was coronated on Saturday, December 6, 1980. The Sun
