President Goodluck Jonathan Tuesday held a private meeting with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the forthcoming election in Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, at the Presidential Villa Abuja.
The details of their meeting was not disclosed as Omisore dressed in a light purple “agbada,” refused to take questions from State House correspondents.
The former deputy governor who was unaccompanied during the visit, was driven into the premises at about 1pm in a federal government-owned black Toyota Land Cruiser SUV with number plate FG838H42.
The meeting with the President in his office lasted for about 30 minutes.
When asked what his mission was he answered, “I am coming back. I am coming back,” before he was seen driven out of the premises.
His presence at the seat of power may not be unconnected with the governorishp election where he is facing the incumbent governor of the state, Rauf Aregbesola of the All Progressive Congress ( APC) .
Omisore is also facing some challenges within his PDP over his controversial emergence as the candidate of the party with former governor of the state, Alhaji Isiaka Adeleke, defecting from the party to join forces with Aregbesola in the APC.
