Oyo State releases funds for LG workers’ salaries

The Oyo State Government has released N8.8 billion for the immediate payment of local government workers’ salary in the state.

The state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mr Bimbo Kolade, made this known in a statement issued on Thursday in Ibadan.

Kolade, in the statement, said the released sum was to ensure that civil and public servants in the state joyfully celebrate the yuletide season.

The statement read in parts, “In fulfilment of the promise made by Oyo state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi that he will put smile on faces of all civil and public servants in the state during the yuletide period and beyond, he has graciously released the sum of N8.8 billion naira for the immediate payment of salaries of all local government workers in the state.”

Kolade added  that the money was  disbursed to all local governments in the state for immediate payment of between two and three months salaries of workers.
