The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olisa Metuh, on Wednesday said that the leadership of the party is delighted with the incessant comments by Ekiti state governor and will encourage him to do more.
Fayose has been very critical of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) controlled federal government and President Muhammadu Buhari even before the conduct of the 2015 general elections.
The governor has also criticised every decision made by the president, issuing statements even before the PDP makes its official position known and not a few Nigerians have wondered if he (Fayose) wants to take over Metuh’s job as the party’s mouthpiece.
When asked if he feels threatened by the governor’s comments, Metuh said Fayose as a leader of the party is free to make comments on the state of the nation in order to put the president on his toes.
“Governor Fayose is doing a fantastic job and we are proud of him and his comments. We are proud of his achievements as governor just as we are proud of the achievements of the Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Olusegun Mimiko and his statements”.
“We like the fact that our elected representatives are speaking on behalf of our great party. As a leader of the party, there is nothing wrong to make comments on key issues which governor Fayose is doing”.
” So, we are enjoying Fayose’s comments and we need more from him and other governors as well. I don’t feel threatened by his comments at all” he said. – Daily Independent.
