A House of Representatives member and Rivers state 2023 governorship aspirant, Farah Dagogo has been arrested by security operatives on Thursday.
According to reports, Dagogo was arrested at the South South Zonal Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
It was gathered that he had appeared for screening ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party primaries.
ThisNigeria reported that Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike had declared Dagogo wanted for launching an attack on the PDP secretariat in Port Harcourt.
In a statement issued by Kelvin Ebiri, Special Assistant on Media to the governor, the guber aspirant had allegedly sent thugs to disrupt the screening of aspirants vying for various political offices under the platform of the party.
“The governor has hereby directed the Rivers State Police Command to arrest Hon. Farah Dagogo for hiring cultists who stormed the PDP secretariat in Port Harcourt, and disrupted the screening of aspirants for various elective positions.
“The Police must as a matter of urgency arrest Farah Dagogo, wherever he is, and must be made to face prosecution.
“Already, some of the hoodlums hired by Farah Dagogo have been arrested and will be made to face the full wrath of the law,” the statement read in part.
