The Rivers State Police command has confirmed the release of the Chairman of Ahaoda-West Local Government Area.
Miller was kidnapped 3 weeks ago by unknown gunmen around Ada-George road in Port Harcourt.
The Rivers Police Commissioner, Tunde Ogunsakin confirmed this to newsmen in Port Harcourt.
Also, the Rivers Police Command said it has recorded huge success in recent times especially in the areas of capacity building, infrastructural development and combating crime in the state.
The command also said its cooperation with other security agencies, including the Joint military task force, JTF has helped to offer solutions to some of its challenges.
Ogunsakin made this known while briefing journalists on the evaluation of the command in the state.
“In the evaluation movement of the police command since my assumption of office in February, 2014, our achievement is overwhelming.
“In our effort to re-build the command, we have created Egi Division to strategically bring policing to the door step of the people.
“Our stakeholders comprise of corporate organizations and bodies who offer credible solutions to most of our challenges. We have revitalized the JTF patrol; it was deemed necessary as a result of the challenges of sophisticated crimes, especially in the area of kidnapping; they have performed beyond expectation in nipping crime in the bud in every corner”, Ogunsakin emphasised.
While emphasizing on the importance of community policing, Ogunshakin reaffirmed that criminals would not be allowed to make Rivers State their safe haven.
The commissioner highlighted some of the command’s achievement in the past three months and also paraded some suspects accused of committing various crimes.
The CP also commissioned an ICT centre for police officers at the state CID in Port Harcourt town.
