Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says her Republican rival, Donald Trump, “may still beat” her in the run-up to the 2016 presidential vote.
In a fundraising email sent to donors on Sunday, the democratic nominee reminded them that the real estate tycoon is “unqualified and unfit to lead our country” as polls showed her lead over Trump was getting stronger.
“He may still beat me,” read the email. “He’s unqualified and unfit to lead our country — but the unfortunate reality we must confront is that he still might be able to win if he spends enough to convince voters otherwise.”
She further noted that Trump and his party managed to raise more than $82 million during the month of July, claiming she is the only one who can beat him.
“This team has what it takes to defeat him — I know that. But I need to know you’re with me right now. Will you chip in to get your Team Hillary sticker and make sure that we win in November and build a future for our country that we can be proud of?”
This is while Clinton’s lead over Trump has been growing steadily since the Democratic National Convention closed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, earlier.
The Clinton campaign has attacked the GOPer over his supposed inclination towards Russia as well as his remarks about his criticism of the family of Captain Humayun Khan, who was killed in 2004 in Iraq.
According to an average of recent polls across the United Sates, the former first lady is up to seven points ahead of the New York billionaire businessman. – Press TV.
