Nigerian artistes have scooped the top honours at the 2016 MTV Africa Music Awards which held at the Ticketpro Dome, Johannesburg, South Africa on Saturday.
Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, known by his stage name Wizkid, emerged the Best Male, Artist of the year, and Best Collaboration.
Nigerian Songstress, Yemi Alade also won her category of Best Female, making her the first female to win the award back to back, having won Best Female at MTV MAMA 2015, Yemi Alade did it again at MTV MAMA 2016.
Meanwhile Nigerian reggae-dance hall singer, Patoranking wins Song of the year, with his smashing hit “My Woman” featuring Wande Coal.
Also, Nigerian Singer, Tekno won Best Breakthrough Artiste.
Olamide, Ycee, Tiwa Savage, Korede Bello and others miss out despite multiple nominations.
