The sixth edition of Yaw Live on Stage tagged The Street held in Lagos last Sunday would not be forgotten in a hurry. It was the bomb!
Guests may have had the premonition, no wonder the Eko Hotel and Suites hall was filled to the brim with guests hoping to get a good time.
They did get a good time. When Yaw and Julius Agwu came on the stage for the play, it was laughter galore. The stage play accompanied by dance and musical performances was centered on various national issues such as fuel scarcity, Governor Adams Oshiomhole and the ‘go and die’ widow episode, ex minister of aviation, Stella Oduah’s bullet proof car saga, power and housing issues, open letter issues, House of Assembly fight, missing N20bn and Lamido Sanusi’s suspension.
The play aptly ended with Timi Dakolo performing his hit song, ‘One Nation’.
But the fun just got started thereafter. Comedians wanted to outdo one another. Apparently, all of them had planned to crack so many ribs.
They did just that. Ali Baba, M.C Abbey, Okey Bakassi, Funny Bone, Akpororo, Elenu, Laff up, Senator, Chigurl, and Emma Oh My God among many others, made sure nobody had a boring moment.
But when the musicians came on the stage, it was a different ball game. The Koko Master, D’banj, M.I, Olamide, Iyanya, Phyno, Sound Sultan and Waje gave electrifying performances that guests had no choice but to get to their feet and rock and roll. Punch
