Tobiloba Amusan will run in the final race of the women’s 100 metres hurdles event at the ongoing 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo on Monday, after qualifying today.
The 24-year-old qualified at the Tokyo Olympic Stadium by winning semi-final 1 with a time of 12.62 seconds, leaving Bahamas’ Devynne Charlton who had 12.66 in second place.
Amusan will now run from lane 6 against seven other qualifiers.
She has a personal best 12.48, the fourth best in the field, and a season best of 12.48 also, which is equally a fourth best in the field.
Amusan is ranked number four in the world, and she is second best in rankings in Monday’s field of eight finalists.
World record-holder Kendra Harrison of the U.S is the best in number two.
