…warns “nobody is above the law”
The detention of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President, Comrade Joe Ajaero, has no doubt sparked widespread speculations regarding the circumstances of his arrest on 9th September 9 by officers of the Department of State Services (DSS).
According to a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Prince Nosakhare Irorere, “the DSS was only doing its job with no ulterior motives whatsoever as widely speculated.”
Prince Irorere warned that nobody was above the law and, as such, Nigerians should not escalate the NLC President’s arrest as a witch-hunt.
Prince Irorere further stated that President Bola Tinubu had nothing to do with Ajaero’s arrest and that it would be preposterous to link Pres. Tinubu to the arrest of the comrade president.
According to him, Comrade Ajaero “is not above the law and the DSS has right to invite him like every other Nigerian, and as such, Nigerians should not make a mountain out of a molehill like they are doing.”
The APC chieftain also applauded the DSS for listening to the agitations of Nigerians by expediting the release of the comrade leader.
According to him, DSS had shown professionalism and respect for Nigeria and Nigerians through the quick resolution.
Prince Irorere seized the opportunity to rally support for Monday Okpebholo, the flag bearer of the APC in the Edo State governorship election scheduled to hold on September 21, 2024.
The APC chieftain enjoined all Edolites to come out in their numbers to vote for the APC candidate as the next Governor of Edo State.
In his final submission, Prince Nosakhare applauded President Bola Tinubu for the progress and success he has recorded since his assumption of office as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“I am also saluting my brother and Friend, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Police Egbetokunbo for securing the lives and property of Nigerians”, the APC stalwart added.
Prince Irorere also felicitated with the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila and the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo Oba Ewuare II for preserving the tradition and culture of the Edo people.
He also greeted members of the Ogboni Confraternity across Nigeria and in top government positions and wished a united Nigeria for the citizenry.
