The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is firing back at reports that its leader Nnamdi Kanu said he will bomb Nigeria, clarifying instead that the leader intended to destroy the existence of Nigeria with the truth until an independent Biafran state is restored.
The group confirmed that Kanu, director of dissident separatist station Radio Biafra, despite outraging many Nigerians with his latest statement, particularly in regards to his prediction on the current crises the country is facing, will continue to tell the world the truth of these happenings.
A statement by the group’s Media and Publicity Secretary Emma Powerful said that Kanu “who was born in the thick of the civil war waged against his Biafran people, affirmed that the contraption referred to as Nigeria only exists today because the Europeans colonial masters said so, insisting that it was not created by God, the natural way all nations on earth came into existence.”
He continued that the country was “conceived in the heart of man to serve a purpose for which nation states were not and could not be designed for. Nigeria is responsible for the untimely death of over 3.5 million murdered between 1966-70 in the name of preserving the territorial integrity which is in effect as a fraud,” quoting Kanu.
Kanu you and your disparate group should stop whining about the Biafran war of 1966. Just so you still remember, your tribe started the war against the rest of the country. In war you fight to kill and then win the war. Biafra lost the war woefully because of your incompetent leader who ran away from the country with his sorry tail between his two wobbly legs. He came back to Nigeria when he was pardoned in the spirit of peace and he stated posturing that he was a general. What an empty arrogant and boastful loser! A pseudo general who couldn’t fight to the last and face the consequence but ran away and abandoned his people.
I will be the last to counsel you and your group not to ask for Biafra as a separate country. But you can achieve your aim without resorting to insulting the intelligence of other tribes in Nigeria. If you and your acolytes want another war, other tribes in Nigeria will be glad to give you one and a bloody one at that!
Much as I empathise with millions who lost their lives in the Biafran war, I’ve no respect for your leaders and your empty posturing. The reason for your agitation for separation from the rest of the country called Nigeria has always been about oil. It’s that simple. Thank God oil has now been found in Lagos state and other parts of the country not known to have oil might be lucky to discover they too have some deposit in the lands.
Your point that countries were created by God is a proof that you and you acolytes lack sound and substantive knowledge about history and human construct of geographical areas of the world commonly refer to as countries today. God created land, man created countries just to make it simple for you and your bereft acolytes. God didn’t create UK or US but He created the lands these two counties now occupy and call their own. UK was created by force of war, US was also created by the force of war. I will spare you the details.
I think it’s time you and your people move forward progressively with new thinking and clear strategies for your agitation that you simple don’t want to be part of Nigeria anymore without given us lame and tepid excuses. After all, it’s within your right to go your separate way. But please spare us your hallowed historical wobbles as to why you want Biafra. The fact that you and your acolytes don’t want to be part of Nigeria any longer is good enough for any reasonable being to understand. But if you resort to war, be ready for the consequence. Ditto!
