English Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion have announced the signing of highly-rated Nigerian forward Zadok Yohanna from Swedish side AIK Stockholm on a five-year contract.
The Seagulls confirmed the transfer in a statement released on Saturday, revealing that the 18-year-old winger will remain at the club until June 2031.
“Brighton & Hove Albion have agreed to the signing of Zadok Yohanna from AIK Stockholm on a five-year contract until June 2031 for undisclosed terms,” the club said.
Yohanna joins Brighton after a rapid rise in European football.
The Nigerian talent moved to AIK Stockholm in 2025 from Ikon Allah Academy in Kaduna and quickly impressed enough to earn promotion from the club’s youth ranks to the senior team within just two months.
Reports indicate that several top Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester City and Newcastle United, were interested in securing his signature before Brighton won the race for the teenager.
Speaking after completing the move, Yohanna expressed delight at joining the Premier League side and reflected on his journey to the English top flight.
“I am very happy to join this club because I know where I came from,” he said.
“I really wanted to make my family proud. And I have done that.”
The winger is regarded as one of Nigeria’s brightest young prospects and has reportedly attracted the attention of Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle.
His move to Brighton represents another milestone in his remarkable rise from grassroots football in Nigeria to one of Europe’s most competitive leagues.
Yohanna is expected to continue his development under Brighton’s renowned youth-focused system as he looks to establish himself in the Premier League and push for a place in the Nigerian national team.
